The MidCities Tejanos 05-06 Boys had a wonderful weekend at the Plano Labor Day Tournament. Not many knew exactly what to expect with the first tournament of the season. the boys had only had one league match so far and were a bit wet behind the ears, but it didn't take them long to get rolling as they jumped all over a FC Eagles squad on Saturday morning. The goals came in bunches as the team ran out to an impressive 7-2 victory.

The afternoon match brought a Houston Dynamo squad who liked to try to play out of the back. The Tejanos boys pressed forward and turned them over regularly winning a 1-0 match that was not as close as the score says. The final grop game brought a Tigres team that had won their opening two games by a combined 16-1 scoreline. The Tejanos rose to the occasion creating several chances in an end to end match. Neither side was able to find the winning goal and the game ended scoreless with both advancing to the knockout rounds.

An afternoon quarterfinal against Colleyville Evolution awaited and it was all one way traffic for the Tejanos. A brilliant performance saw the boys run out 4-0 victors. Another matchup with Tigres was set for Monday morning's semifinal.

Tigres came out firing and raced out to a 2-0 lead but the boys in blue regrouped and went back about getting the match righted. A goal from Maddox really put the pressure on Tigres as the Tejanos pushed for the equalizer. Unfortunately time ran out and the Tejanos fell in an exciting semifinal match.

A wonderful weekend full of successes and growth for the MidCities Tejanos 05-06 Boys. Lots was learned that will set the boys up for a great fall!
