Tejanos ring in April with perfect weekend
Those Tejanos boys must like their springtime! Every single boys team rang in April with great results running out to an unbeaten weekend of five matches for the club.
The 99 boys kicked things off early Saturday morning playing their first match since early December. Nobody knew quite what to expect after the four month layoff for high school soccer. To complicate matters was a showdown against a very talented Oak Cliff squad. It was ashame the top two teams in the entire league had to meet after such a long layoff, but both sides played quite well. Two goals from Oscar helped the U17s earn an exciting 2-2 draw on the day.
Next up were the 03 boys who never gave the poor team from Mansfield any chance as it was a beatdown from the opening whistle. Despite a bumpy field that hurt the our short passing game the boys ran out comfortable 5-0 winners on the day. Goals from Ethan, Axel and Winston.
Sunday brought the 02 boys & the 06 boys to the fields. The 02s played their best match of the season as they blasted America 4-1. Angel, Ronnie and Carlos led a devastating attack that was unlucky to have not scored even more than the four they notched.
Finally the 06 boys grabbed a pair of tight wins on the day. The bronze group won a hard fought 3-2 match to complete an unbeaten season and claim the Primetime Bronze championship. Colton scored twice in the victory. Later in the afternoon the Gold team took the field and beat Colleyville 2-1. A late goal from Christopher provided the difference after Evan DeMoss blasted home the opening goal.
All in all a wonderful weekend for all the MidCities Tejanos boys teams!
